Another great season for Youth Archery. A lot of new children learning archery for the first time as well as kids that have participated in the program before. Learning a sport while having fun is always an enjoyment for parents to watch their children participating with other children. As the program comes to an end, we will be looking forward to the pizza dinner that all the kids can continue having fun at. Hope to see everyone participate this coming year at the
Danvers Fish and Game Youth Archery program.

The Danvers Fish and Game Club has had a Youth archery program for decades. The program starts on the second Friday in January and runs every Friday night for eight weeks. The first and second Friday’s  of the month of January are sign ups at the indoor archery range on the left side of the main clubhouse building down below, from 6:00 to 7:30PM. Ages from six years old to 18 years old. The club staffs our own archery instructors along with all the necessary bows, arrows, and targets. 

There are two groups every Friday night. Group one ages are from six years old to 12 years old and shoot from 6 PM to 7:30 PM. Group two ages are from 12 years old to 18 years old and shoot from 7:30PM to 9:00 PM. If a parents child can’t make the first class, the second class would be available.

The Youth archery program is for both members and nonmembers families and friends. The cost for a club members child is $40, for the eight weeks, and $80 for a nonmembers child.

It’s a lot of fun for kids and they get to meet and make new friends. The older group is usually for experience shooters but if your child is young and experienced, they can shoot in the second group if they want.

Safety is constantly practiced at all times. At the end of the season we have a banquet for the kids with popcorn, pizza and drinks, held in the main hall at the clubhouse. Each kid gets rewarded with a T-shirt.

The indoor range is heated so it’s a great sport to do after the holidays in the dead of the season. Come on down, it’s an experience and a great time for the kids.
